Formula E is a brand new racing that founded in 2012. In the racing, only all-electric cars can drive. For now, there are nine teams in the race, also Jaguar announced that the company will race in Formula E. Is that highly possible all-electric cars will steal some hearts of the Formula One fans. Unfortunately, after Michael, the F1’s popularity went down. One downside of an All-electric car is, they don’t have a cool engine sound like the Formula One cars. Sadly…

But why this race is so important? We just get in an era of all electric cars. And before and still many of our cars are using engines that work with pistons, gear shift and other components, and Formula One races helped the manufacturers to improve the vehicles. Many important technologies we have in today’s cars came from the money and time spent on Improving F1 cars. Some of these techs are; Tyre technologies, steel disc brakes, active suspensions, sequential gearboxes, aerodynamics, Kinetic Energy Recovery System ( KERS ), safety and engines techs of course. As you see, even today’s all-electric cars use some of the technologies that came from F1.

First of all, the car manufacturers enter to these races for prestige purposes. Races watched all around the world and it is a great publicity for them, second if you want to research some new technologies you need an engineering team, equipment, Highly trained drivers needed because some of the techs should force throughout its limits. And this combination cost a lot of money. But with the race like Formula 1, the manufacturer can have sponsors to cover their expenses, the publicity helps them sell cars. If you look at all picture, they are getting huge publicity with a little amount of money and they do researchers and improve their vehicles at the some time.

Think about Ferrari, I don’t think no one can deny the quality of the car they produce.
