Google maps is a well known, popular feature used by millions of people, whether on a phone, tablet, desktop or another device. Since its launch in 2005, it has been consistently updated with the newest roads, bridges, shops, etc. as well as the implementation of various features. But, everything can always be improved, and Google has now decided to implement two more handy features into Google Maps – Multiple Destination Directions and Timeline Notes on Android.
Although smartphones have been around for quite some time now, there is still a lot of work to be done before they are anywhere near to achieving the capability of a PC. But, that has not put Google off, and they know, more than most, that perseverance is the key. So, although it took until 2008 (three years later than the desktop version) for the mobile version of Google Maps to launch, when it did it quickly became one of the world’s most used apps.
The first new feature of the app to be added to the platform is Multiple Destination Directions, so no longer will you need to enter separate journeys when you want to stop at the store on the way home. Just type in each place you need to go, and Google will organize it in one big trip for you. The other awesome new feature to be added is Timeline Notes. This handy little tool will automatically place all the places you visit in a scrollable timeline for you allowing you to make notes at places of interest to you along the way (such as a favorite store or restaurant).
Both new features will bring users more flexibility in use and, hopefully for Google, increase its popularity even more and will available shortly.
