For some reason or another, Honda has always kept the Civic Type R under wraps in the U.K., Malaysia, South Africa, and other parts of the globe, but never in the U.S. However, that is all about to change as in 2017 the new Honda Civic Type R will indeed be hitting the shores of America for the very first time.
Because it’s almost like a novelty, not having been introduced in the U.S. until now, the Honda Civic Type R will undoubtedly do well regarding sales upon launching. Its debut came at the 2016 Paris Motor Show where it got to show off it’s aggressive, sporty, look that has maybe just a hint of Subaru WRX STI in it.
Its sleek exterior is more muscular and aerodynamic that previous models and is also wrapped to give it that high-class finish you want from a new car. Other features that are hard to ignore are its 20-inch wheels with 245 section performance tires, diamond-mesh air intake inserts, a carbon fiber splitter and side skirts, and triple function tailpipes (of course).
Underneath the hood is still being kept a bit of a mystery, but if the exterior is anything to go by then we should all expect a lean, mean, fighting machine to come roaring through the hood. But, you will have to wait until Honda are ready to reveal just what’s underneath the hood to see if it’s going to be your first toy of 2017.
