As drones become increasingly popular, they are also becoming more advanced and now a Japanese drone manufacturer has created a large drone that has been fitted with dual robotic arms. Pro drones are the creators of the robot and a world’s first for this type of drone. But, as cool as it is that we have created this kind of advanced robot, should we not be a little bit worried?
This particular drone is called the PD6B-AW-ARM. It has six propellers, can reach heights of over 16,000 feet, and fly at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour. The PD6B-AW-ARM is also durable and reliable enough that it can fly in winds of up 22 mph, all while being protected under its weatherproof exterior. On top of all this, the one thing that has got people are its two clawed arms.
The dual robotic weapons that form part of this new drone gibe it the ability to do some tasks that traditional drones are unable to do. It includes carrying payloads that weigh up to 22 pounds for up to 30 minutes at one time. If no payload is on board, then the drone is free to do other tasks such as cut cables, turn dials, or flip switches. This type of drone technology will prove invaluable for humans in some instances where lives are at risk but, we need to ensure that they are still monitored to ensure maximum safety.
