Google Cardboard Brings Dinosaurs to Life

You can now experience a virtual reality walk with dinosaurs thanks to Google’s Arts & Culture app and Google Cardboard.  This brilliant app allows users to get a real feeling and better understanding what life would have been like with these animals around.  Google is currently working with 50 natural history museums across the globe to bring more than 150 dinosaurs to life in this crazy virtual reality app.

Various dinosaurs come to life as part of the experience including a giant, swimming rhomaleosaurus moving around the Natural History Museum of London and a grown-up version of Little Foot from Land Before Time who can be seen stomping around Berlin’s Museum fur Naturkunde and knocking down a work of art.

Scientists were hired to ensure the accuracy of the anatomy of the dinosaurs before they were created.  Google writes, “We wanted to give you a glimpse of how these massive creatures looked.  So we worked with ecologists, paleontologists, and biologists to put virtual skin and flesh on the preserved skeletons.”

There are already over 300,000 photos and 30 virtual tours available to browse through on Google’s Arts & Culture app and these new dinosaur animations are going to add to the magic.  Also, since the start of this year, Google has shipped out more than 5 million Cardboard headsets that are compatible with Android phones and provide users with an even more magical experience.  You can experience the virtual reality museum tours for $20 including Cardboard, so what are you waiting for?  Go have some fun!
