Because classic cars are so old, getting hold of vintage parts can be a mission like no other, and some people have been known to wait years for that one piece. And then, when you do get hold of the missing part of the puzzle, who’s to say it is in excellent condition? At the end of the day, a classic car is one that is at least 25 years old, so if you want an original part, so it too will be vintage, and will have a good chance that its seen its fair share of wear and tear or at least aging defects.
However, a new start-up company, Freshmade 3D are looking to change all of that and revolutionize the classic car part, market by introducing their 3D printed classic car parts. Yes, OK it is now going to be the same age as the original part, but it will look the same, function the same, and will take hours to print rather than months to find! What more could one ask for?
Teaming up with Hahn-Vorbach, a restoration company that has many years experience in this field, the duo is keen to combine the best of classic car restoration with the best of 3D printing and come out with products that are second to none. In using 3D printing technology, the team will be able to design, print and sell these parts much faster than traditional classic car parts, so is going to be a very profitable partnership on both sides.
