So, everyone knows that Samsung has had issues in the past with some of the batteries in the Galaxy Note 7 phones blowing up. However, tests carried out on the Galaxy S8 prove just how tough these new batteries are. You can stab, and slice straight through the Galaxy S8 battery and it will not explode in the slightest.
With Samsung conscious of the problems they encountered with the Galaxy Note 7 batteries, they knew they had to be ultra careful with the next batch, and it’s certainly paid off. And, if it didn’t happen to Samsung, it would have soon happened to another company and just highlighted the fact that the batteries we have been using on our phones for years are potentially very dangerous.
But, clever bods at Samsung have been working on developing a new phase in battery technology that could revolutionize batteries as we know them. While they’re still using the same lithium-ion type battery as most do, through some advanced technology they’ve somehow managed to toughen the battery so that it no longer explodes, even under the harshest of conditions such as stabbing or slicing the battery with a sharp object.
So Samsung seems to have pulled things back and redeemed themselves from last year’s battery fiasco, but even now the batteries aren’t indestructible and do have a limit. But at least steps have been made in the right direction to ensuring consumer battery technology remains safe.
