Most people that have any remote interest in cars or driving will have heard of Tesla.  Having already sold nearly 140,000 electric vehicles worldwide since the delivery of its first Tesla Roadster in 2008, the company is only set to climb.  With Tesla being the world’s first company to produce a fully electric sports car, it quickly gained a reputation for itself as being a fresh, new innovative company that could potentially change the world. Now, Tesla has released their latest creation, the Model X, which will be Tesla’s first take on an electric SUV.

Although the first official deliveries of the Model X went out in September 2015, there hasn’t been too much hype around them until now.  The company had managed to secure around 30,000 reservations for the new model, but due to production time being slower than expected, they felt inclined to keep their cards close to their chests at the time.

But, this year they have taken the bull by the horns and gone at it full steam.  In February of this year, Tesla launched their Meet Model X tour which allowed test drives of the vehicle for those that had reserved one at a cost of $5,000.  In May, test drives were being offered more frequently in store and to certain customers on their mailing list.  Even more recently, Tesla has now made it possible to book a test drive online.

It’s amazing the success this company has managed to achieve, all without paying for any advertising.  Tesla relies heavily on their stores, website and fan base to spread the word and do believe in paying thousand or millions of dollars for something that is unnecessary.  By doing tours and booking test drives, Tesla has proved that it is possible to succeed in this way without the additional costs of advertising.  So, although we may not be seeing Tesla during the next commercial break, their goals are suggesting that we will be seeing a lot of more of them around town as they look to produce their next model for the average consumer, the Tesla Model 3.  Watch this space.
