Valve’s game platform Steam has been growing up rapidly these last years. That is why the company decided to upgrade its network infrastructure with new 100Gbps Internet ports to handle the traffic.
According to the last reports; Steam’s traffic levels are grow 75 percent in years. Currently, traffics level is 450 to 500 petabytes per month and four exabytes a year. The platform now has 100 million users, and average 10 million concurrent players, over 2 billion minutes played on the platform every day. Also, the Steam’s concurrent player record is 12.3 million users. New ports’ work with the capacity of 42Tbps, including 100Gbps internet ports in 26 market which are located in America and Europe.

Valve host many games but Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are the busiest ones. CS average user a day is 565,000 while the champion Dota 2 has 871,000 concurrent players in a day. The Steam platform is getting bigger every day, the future updates may not be enough in the following years. We are also waiting that soon Valve will come up with the Half-Life game.
