Which one is going to rule!! The streaming world
YouTube Red and YouTube Music app were just released, and YouTube let you use this feature 14days for free. Well so far I like to watch videos without ads, personally I use Youtube for watching my favorite show and some kittens, of course, but soon YouTube will be more than just watching some random videos, with you YouTube Red we can able to watch movies, tv shows and most importantly listening music. With the new YouTube music app now you can listen or search for new music online and listen to them offline, the app can keep playing music or playing the video even in the background.
Especially in the USA, streaming market controlled by two mainstreamer which is Netflix and Hulu – Netflix has the %60 percent of the market – so they are living their moment right now, earning enough money but we presume not for long. If you have Netflix or Hulu shares, I am telling you it is time to sell!!!… Because there will be two new competitors are coming to the market, and they called Apple and Google. The biggest two companies in this world!! If we think we are alone in this universe, I can use the term biggest two of the Galaxy!…
So what can this two do to Netflix and Hulu, well one of them is the largest seller of smart devices as phones or pads and laptops, and the other one has the biggest content of videos that we watch every day.
Some will say Netflix and Hulu are creating their content like a tv show or documentaries, yes that is true I loved Netflix documentary about Ukraine Revolution. So creating content needs money right let’s check how much some of the tv show cost;
Game of Thrones (2011-present): $6 million per episode
Camelot (2011): $7 million per episode (Starz)
Marco Polo (2014-present): $9 million per episode
Breaking bad: $3 million per episode ( my favorite )
Let’s think that the companies need to make ten shows to get somewhere in this market and each episode will cost 10million. In this four streamers who do you say can pay this money?! Well, Google and Apple of course and they don’t even care about that amount of money, for this reason, Netflix and Hulu can’t beat this two with creating new contents
And also as member of young generation, I never watch TV shows from TV or any other streaming company, well we have torrent, streaming companies are not fast enough for us, we don’t like to wait to see ” The Walking Dead’s ” new season, and after Glen fell from that garbage container, no way!!, we need to watch, and torrent will help us on this one.
What are the changes of Google and Apple in streaming market?
Well in Apple TV you can find music, tv shows, movies and many streaming channels like Netflix, Hulu and many other which include sports channels, and this gives Apple an advantage in US market or any other English speaking countries. But not all people around the world want to watch American based content, that is where YouTube Red will crush the others, YouTube viewers are watching 3 billion videos every day, don’t mind Facebook 8 billion views – even you just watch 3 seconds of videos Facebook count as a view that we do when we slide down and checking what people share- in YouTube servers there are too many foreign content like tv shows, documentaries, game channels, videos of funny stuff, educational content and many more, and with new music future the others have no chance if you considering all around the World.
So in USA market all streamers will be okay but Netflix and Hulu will start losing their share of the market, and if they don’t play their cards right, they will not survive. World dominance will belong to YouTube, and Apple will follow.
