From smartphones to smart appliances, smart technology is everywhere around us. It’s no surprise either when you look at all of the good that can come from it. Smart meters can often save people hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year by monitoring and adjust how they use energy within the home. But now, smart devices are also entering the world of healthcare and one remarkable innovation to get into the market is a diabetic health tracking startup called Siren Care.
Siren Care has developed innovative smart socks that can detect inflammation through the use of temperature sensors. Primarily designed for diabetics, these socks could potentially save the lives of many. Foot swelling is a problem for both type 1 and types two diabetes patients, and early detection of any problem is vital in warding off any serious issues. As well Siren Care’s smart socks, more products that have been introduced to help the diabetic community include a wireless shoe insert made by SurroSense Rx and a boot called the PressureGuardian that also aims to detect diabetic foot injuries.
Although these other products are good, none get quite as close to the skin as Siren Care’s socks. All data is collected and sent directly to the app to alert you of any issues and if you need to check your foot. There’s no charging involved with these socks, either. Each lasts for around six months as are only really on while being worn. They’re completely machine washable too. If these socks are something you or someone you know could benefit from then why not pre-order yours now.
