By introducing the use of 3D printing to create imitation coral, teams in Bahrain and Monaco have discovered that they can provide an alternative home like environment for all the marine life that are at risk as the real coral disappears. Because baby polyps and other marine life are instinctively attracted to the healthy pink and white colors of coral, they are positive that if they create the right environment, then this will be the perfect alternative to the real thing and protect so many species that we are currently in danger of destroying.
With water pollution and climate change both on the rise, it is time to act now. With just the smallest change in temperature having devastating effects for these creatures, this latest idea presented by scientists is a fantastic way to keep some of our amazing underwater life in existence.
