Messenger and Uber began to negotiate at the first time for a possible integration in July 2014, but there was not a clear statement from both companies until yesterday. During that time, messenger becomes a huge platform and Uber has provided significant infrastructure development such as publishing the API to enable integration with third-party applications.
Uber previously engaged in similar collaborations with applications like Foursquare. Uber will provide access to a very large audience (700 million Messenger users) with this integration. However, this integration is not only limited just the driver call service but also Uber will use the Businesses on messenger for communication with its customers. On the Facebook side, this integration will not be limited only with Uber. We can hear a new partnership with Lyft soon.
This feature of the messenger is firstly available for use in the US.But Facebook said that the feature will be in use to other countries in a short time.
