3D-Printers Now Using Titanium For Durability

3D printing just got that little bit cooler as developers now uncover how to use titanium to create durable, customizable items and one that seems to have grabbed many people’s attentions is a 3D Printed Titanium Garmin Mount.  This is a great little accessory for cyclists who have a Garmin but are lacking a place to mount it, and the fact that it is printed from Titanium is just amazing.

The funky, little mount was designed and developed in Melbourne, Australia and comes in a range of different styles to fit almost any handlebars/frame.  It is one of many innovative products that Zimbabwe-born engineer Jamie Riedy has created through his company Fetha Custom Components.  But, to make this latest creation, Jamie teamed up with Australian University, RMIT, to get him access to world leading technology and an especially talented student named Ben that is still working alongside him now.

The mounts are all custom printed to your specifications, so it is imperative you get your measurements right if you don’t want to run into issues during the fitting stage.  Fetha Custom Components will aim to have your customized mount back to you within two weeks of receiving your measurements and because they are so are robust and well made the company even include a full three-year replacement warranty with each sale.  Even the screws that are used that attach to your faceplate bolts are made of titanium so there should be no problems with this product deteriorating any time soon!
