Theft from ATMs are becoming more and more common, and the ways in which thieves can get hold of your funds is also increasing. Thieves and fraudsters are often inventive creatures and the more technology advances, the more sophisticated their tools of the trade become as well, leading us innocent people in a pretty weak position. Whether it is people stealing the cash from under your nose, taking photographs from across the street, or skimming the card at the machine itself, millions of people are fooled out of their hard earned cash every year by these unscrupulous individuals.
However, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Although thieves and fraudsters ideas’ may be getting better, so are the companies that work hard to protect our cash, and one of those companies looking out for us and our money is Apple. Instead of people using their debit or credit cards at an ATM, with the risk of your information being stolen unknowingly, Apple is introducing an app that will allow users to withdraw cash literally using their iPhone.
By introducing the use of the app, it will speed up the average ATM transaction time to around 10 seconds and an electronic receipt is sent directly to the phone, saving on both paper, and the possibility of people losing it. For the moment, it looks as though this handy little app will be exclusively for iPhone users, but with Apple being Apple you never know just what might be coming around the corner.
