New Yorkers have a penchant for large cars that would normally be considered at home in the countryside. They use lots of gas and pedestrians have little chance of survival if they find themselves in their way. There are a growing number of people thinking that LTVs and SUVs they should be banned from cities.
It is dangerous for other reasons to drive in NY as some bridges are not designed for vehicles as heavy as some of them and yet police at either end of the bridge ignore them entirely.
