Altera mainly works on an architecture of ‘field programmable gate arrays, after this purchasing, they will continue to work on Intel’s data centers and especially IoT products. We can say that agreement began to bear fruit for Intel that is preparing to launch the new Xeon processors equipped with FPGA technology in 2016.
Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said that company will work on new generation technologies such as; driverless cars and machine learning with Altera.The team will continue to operate under the department named ‘‘Programmable Solutions Group’’. The company CEO John Daane will lead to new group voluntarily 30-day transition period, then he will resign from office.
