While most VR setups are all about gaming, the HP Z VR Backpack PC is slightly different. This device is aimed at the more professional market and includes walk-through simulations, visualization, and employee training. It’s more just another VR rig, it’s a workstation-class PC that’s packed with up to 32 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i7 Pro processor, and a Nvidia Quadro GPU.
This beast of a backpack runs off dual batteries, yet the whole thing weighs just 10 pounds. It also supports most head-mounted displays to make sure users are as comfortable as possible when using the backpack. With no cords to worry about getting tangled in, the VR backpack is light, durable, and everything you’d want from this kind of wearable. Users only get high-end performance here with the latest high-fidelity graphic card to help stop any dropped frames.
When not wearing the backpack, it has a dock in which it sits that allows the user to transition between high-powered desktop for VR content design and wearable VR PC for making those creations come alive. With each HP Z VR Backpack PC package, users get the backpack harness, hot-swappable batteries, battery clips, an HP Z VR dock, and a power adapter. It’s loaded with ports too. There’s two USB 3.0 ports, a HDMA 2.0 port, a Mini-DP 1.3 port, an audio combo jack, and an HMD power jack. There’s also 2 additional USB 3.0 ports and a 330W AC adapter power port on the side of the PC. What more could you possibly need?
