IBM’s new Spectrum Protect Plus has just launched and the company promises it’s easy to set up, easy to manage and helps make the whole process of data recovery much easier too. There are two different deployment options available for the software. You can either have it as a stand alone software installed in a virtual environment or integrated with IBM’s Spectrum Protect software.
With Spectrum Protect Plus you get data availability using snapshot technology that gives you a rapid recovery, management, and backup. The software is designed to be used by virtual machines and application administrators and provides all the data clone functionality needed to support and automate DevOps workflows.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus offers a simple, user interface with the fast recovery capabilities. “Without availability data is little more than an obligation. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus has been designed for easy setup, easy management and easy recovery that puts the emphasis on data control and management where it needs to be for end users,” said Ed Walsh, general manager at IBM Storage and Software Defined Infrastructure. “The result is simplified backup administration through a single platform, which is especially important for VW focused data backup, archive, and retention.”
