In just two months the new Chevy Bolt will hit dealerships across the United States. Although the Bolt’s been available to buy in Oregon and California since December last year, it’s now being opened up to the rest of the country. And, if its success in those two states is anything to go by, we could be seeing many more of these zoom across our roads this summer.
One of the best selling points of the Chevy Bolt has to be its 238-mile range. There may be others electric vehicles on the market that can achieve much more, but affordability is something they’re offering too. At a $30,000 price tag after incentives, and considering the amount you’ll save in fuel costs, it’s a steal.
Another great thing with the Chevy does not only have the met their timescale of production and rollout across the states, but they’ve exceeded it! This is indeed something very rare when it comes to the electric vehicle market (not mentioning any names, ahem, Tesla). Obviously, Chevy is still being careful in their rollout of the Bolt and they want to ensure that all their dealerships have DC fast charging stations available and staff fully trained on how to use them before the final reins are released.
Steve Majoros, Chevrolet’s marketing director for cars and crossovers, said recently, “We were waiting for all the tools to be in place. We are kind of ahead of schedule on implementing all of those things as well as making sure we have enough sufficient inventory.”
