While the new Tesla Model 3 is still very much in the production stage, not many details have been revealed about what can expect from the new electric vehicle. However, a document was leaked on May 22 and posted to the Model 3 Owners Club that gives prospective customers a chance to compare the new model’s specs with that of its predecessor’s.
The most surprising piece of information was probably in regards to how quick it is. The new Model 3 will do 0-60mph in a staggering 5.6 seconds, which is only .3 of a second slower than a 2016 Ford Mustang V6! So, how about that! Although the Model hasn’t been designed with the sporty driver in mind, it clearly still packs a punch.
As a comparison to the Model S, the Model 3 does have a smaller range, and not as many customization options. But, it also costs significantly less than the Model S and is priced at a very reasonable $35,000 (approximately). And the range is nothing to be sniffed at either. You’ll still get a 215 mile plus range out of one single charge.
Deliveries are expected to be shipped later this year for those who have already placed a pre-order, which means a slightly longer wait for anyone who didn’t get theirs reserved already. But by the sounds of it, it will be well worth the wait. Next on the list for Tesla is a semi-truck and a pickup truck, so watch this space
