It’s been a long time coming, and Tesla is finally beginning to get a little healthy competition among the electric vehicle industry. Another big car manufacturer that knows that electric vehicles are here to stay and is now helping to supply them is Mercedes. The company’s first premium battery-electric car was unveiled just last week in Paris.
The new Mercedes SUV will host two electric motors and be capable of up to 500 kilometers, allegedly. It will keep up the sleek, distinctive Mercedes look and one of its most prominent exterior features is its blue lightning nose. Whether this blue nose would make it onto the production line or is just for the prototype, who knows? We will just have to wait and see on that one.

Inside the SUV will be plush as expected for Mercedes with touch-based controls and super-thin seats. The two motors are nothing to be sniffed at either. This all-wheel-drive SUV will get you from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds with a battery pack that should hold out for up to 500 kilometers (310 miles).
Although no price has yet been set as it’s still very much a concept car at the moment, some hints is will be a similar cost to that of a gas-powered GLC, which is around $45,000 on average. So, will Tesla owners be faithful or will they suddenly start to deviate when they soon become spoilt for choice overall that’ll soon be on offer in the electric car market? Only time will tell, I guess.
