Many people may have only heard about Fisker Karma luxury cars through the likes of Justin Beiber and his custom chrome version and with their only being around 1,000 on the road today, you may not have been fortunate enough to have seen one yet. Then, in 2013 Fisker himself came into a spot of bother and filed for bankruptcy before his assets were sold for $149.2 million to Wanxiang Group.
The brand is now looking to make a comeback and as a starting point has been renamed Karma and is looking to release a $130k hybrid electric sports car in 2017. This new sports car will be named the Karma Revero and will be a combination of luxurious looks and advanced technology. Although this particular model is not going to win the general public over, it may just win over those that already have other luxury cars and looking for something new to try.
In terms of looks, the new Revero isn’t too much different to its predecessor with only a few minor modifications such as a slight alteration to the diamond-shaped vents. Regarding power, the vehicle has a 260hp, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine. Its hybrid electric battery boasts 21.4 kWh giving it a range of around 50 miles and can still produce super fast speeds of 0-60 in just 5.4 seconds. Another great feature of the new Revero is its solar roof panel that can add an extra 1.5 miles driving range to the vehicle.
Inside the Revero will be CarPlay integration for the time being with Android being available a little later. The infotainment system is also more advanced and more responsive than the 2012 model and over-the-air updates will be available as a standard feature. So, if you do want to get your hands on one of what could be Tesla’s next rival, then the company are taking pre-orders, but there is no confirmed shipping date as of yet, so you may be waiting a little while.
