With the fabulous money saving and plant saving benefits that solar energy has to offer these days, many people are making the switch from electricity to this form of renewables. But, for some living in places such as apartment buildings, it may not be that simple to make the change. Until now, that is.
New start-up company, Brooklyn SolarWorks have a vision of making solar energy available to everyone, even if previously they did not think there was enough room or even possible if living in an apartment. But now, the team have revolutionized the way in which solar energy has traditionally been distributed in homes by the solar panel and are now offering those with less space, the solar canopy.
The canopies will basically elevate the solar panel to around 10 feet above the roof, meaning no real roof space is required. With theses new sources of renewable energy, customers can save thousands on their energy bills and help the environment as well by cutting down on the use of traditional fossil fuel use.
Brooklyn SolarWorks intends to work with their customers from start to finish. The team will take the measurements of the roof and use specialized design software they will build a custom design based on their customer’s needs. However amazing this idea is, though, there is still opposition from those who feel that adding a canopy to an old building is going to reduce its historical significance and look out of place in the cities. But with 70 percent of people thinking its a fantastic idea and looks great, it is a product that has big potential.
