Donald Trump’s plans may have been compromised as hackers have been getting inside information about the current presidential candidate for over a year. The two groups believed to be working for the Russian government hacked their way into the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) network with the sole intention to spy on Trump.
The two groups that were said to have been hacking Trumps files have been nicknamed Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear. Both are believed to be Russian operations. Cozy Bear is a hacking group that mainly monitored emails and chat conversations at the DNC and could be working for the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia. Fancy Bear is thought to be employed by the military.
It is not the first time that the presidential candidates have been hacked coming up to an election, and I dare say it will be the last. Cyber attacks involving political candidates, in general, are quite common anyway, and more incidents are likely to occur as we get closer to the election, so organizations will be stepping up their security in hopes to keep the secrets, secret.
