It seems that young people are not in a rush to get married anymore, and this is not just an issue in certain areas but seems to be around the globe. It is not unheard of for them to decide not to get married at all. Despite the fact that life experiences differ from country to country, this phenomenon is universal. Where you live can determine the age at which you will wed and in some countries, it will be up to 10 years later than in others. The United Nations are the organization responsible for carrying out this piece of work.
The income of the country seems to pay a big part in deciding the age that many citizens get married. If the country is rich – and here a good example is the Nordic countries such as Sweden and Finland – the couple can be well into their thirties. In Africa, it can be much lower and of all the countries studies the Central African Republic came back with the lowest age group and this was under 20. There are clearly other factors at play as in both the United States and Chile the average age is 28, yet the economic conditions are very different.

Most figures are from the years 2009 -2014 and there are other figures such as men being older when they marry than women. In Egypt it is five years older, yet in richer France 1.6 years. In certain countries, many women are married by the age of 15, but overall the marriage age is rising.
