Investment is increasing on a regular basis, and it is at a time when there is the embracing of various forms of automation by some automotive manufacturers. Tesla is one company that enabled automatic lane switching and as soon as possible after 2018, Ford want to introduce auto-parking into the cars that they produce. The additional R&D testing could lead to the government agreeing to quicker approval for autonomous vehicles. It is accepted that 800,000 square feet is not a massive plot, but is big enough for requirements. Apple has 2.8 million sq ft for the Campus 2 and despite already having 100 autonomous cars in use, Alphabet is looking for a further 400,000 square feet.
