Mission-E considered to be a Tesla killer. Well with its looks it can kill many supercar on the market that is for sure. The car expected to have more than 600 horsepower ( or in a new scale of electric vehicles for power, it will have 440 kilowatts of system power ) many hopes Mission E will also have an ” insane mode ” like Model S. Estimated range will be 310-mile per charge. The model will be the Porches’s first all-electric car on the market, I hope it won’t be the last. Porsche says in the next several years, the company will invest more than $760 million to its Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen facility that will produce the all-electric vehicles. They expanded the existing engine factory to produce electric engines, also will build a new paint shop and assembly plant.

One of the best features of the car is not how cool and sexy it looks. It is the battery charging speed; the battery can reach an 80% percent charge in 15 minutes, it is twice fast as Tesla’s supercharger ( 30 minutes also not bad though). Porsche says the car can be charged that fast because of it has doubled the typical 400 volts of energy output used by Tesla. Also, I want to add; you can not charge your Porsche nor Tesla this fast with your regular electric output at your home, it will take much more time. These numbers are for the particular station for fast charging that had higher electrical outputs. Mission-E will use lithium-battery like Model S, which is mounted underbody between the front and rear axles. The car will have a low center of gravity that gives better driving experience. Mission-E is supposed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour ( 0 to 60 mile ) in less than 3,5 seconds.

So Mission E can be a Tesla Killer?. Well, I don’t think so. Porsche is a luxury car maker, but Elon Musk want to sell cars to almost anyone, that is why Tesla just invested 5 billion to a new battery factory, and made agreements about buying raw materials for the future mass production. Tesla Model 3’s price planning to be $35,000 and this is an affordable price for US market. The new factory will also lower the cost of Model S, which is Mission E’s enemy at this point, and Model X will come before 2020. Of course, Porsche will sell a good amount of cars for sure but will never able to catch Tesla sales numbers.

Also, there are some massive problems that Volkswagen Group has right now because of its diesel engines. VW need to much money to secure its depths because of future recalling, and Porsche is a part of this group. For now Porsche is not affected by the diesel engine scandal but never known what will future shows us. Before going after Tesla, Porsche should solve its problems. We will see Mission E will be a Tesla killer on the roads but not on the all-electric car market for sure.
