The iOS Vs. Android Battle Continues

Apple is looking to reveal their next smartphone, which is the iPhone 7 and because Apple does have a lot of hardcore fans, sales are probably not going to be slow. But, for many that have lived with the iOS device for the past few releases they are getting a little bored with what’s on offer and are glancing over in the direction of the Android instead.  If you are one of those people, there are a few things you may want to consider before making the switch.

Firstly, you will need to get used to a few different functions, but tapping and swiping is the same as is the look of the home screen with your accessible folders and apps on a show.  Mostly, you will notice you have more onscreen buttons with an Android phone than an iOS device.  Secondly, there may be some apps that will not work with Android as are specifically for iPhones.  But, popular apps like WhatsApp and Facebook will still work on either device.

The good thing about technology these days is that much of it is interchangeable. You don’t have to worry about losing all your contacts of you do switch from iOS to Android as can use iCloud to copy them to your Google account. You can also sync your iOS calendar with Google Calendar for easy transporting of important dates to remember.  Music will also remain safely stored, and iTunes can be accessed from any Android phones, so you are not at risk of losing any of your favorite tunes either.

Some people may be concerned that cameras are not as good on Androids as on the iPhone, but this is not the case at all, and some are even better.  You also have the ability to drag and drop files from your PC to a connected Android phone, and if using a Mac, just use Google’s standalone Android File Transfer tool.  Accessories like Bluetooth headphones and speaker should all work perfectly well with Android also, but anything that has a Lightning connector will only work with Apple devices.

So, if you are thinking of making the switch, there are many good reasons to do it, and a few that suggests you shouldn’t, but ultimately it is down to you.  Do you prefer to stick with what you know or are you ready to take a chance and delve into the unknown of Androids?
