Tesla’s Elon Musk is at it again with more of his ideas that could totally transform our world as we know it. The multi-billionaire published a plan back in 2006 that stated he would build a sports car, use that money to build and affordable car, use that money to build an even more affordable car and provide zero emission electric power generation options also. And, it is pretty evident that Musk has achieved all of these goals successfully and now his next set of plans have just been released.
Although Musk recently confirmed his intention to purchase the country’s largest solar energy provider, Solar City, Tesla has no intention of transforming their electric car company into an energy company. They are however looking to shift into the world of sustainable transportation. There are four elements to Elon’s 2016 plan which are:
- To create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage
- Expand electric vehicle product line to address all major segments
- Develop a self-driving capability that is 10x safer than manual via massive fleet learning
- Enable your car to make money for you when you aren’t using it.
In order to achieve these goals, Musk has already created several ideas that will get him there. The year 2015, saw Tesla introduce the Powerwall to the consumer market – the home battery that could also power your car. Not long after its debut, the Powerwall was being proposed to be used as an integrated solar feature in the new development, YarraBend in Melbourne (often referred to as “Tesla Town”). By designing a solar roof battery product, the team will not only produce a product that is going to look great but will function efficiently too.
