Epson Robots are the world’s leading SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robot manufacturer, and they have just announced that they have expanded their range a little bit more with the introduction of three new robot models which are the LS20, the LS6-500 and the LS6-700 each of them differing in functionality.
The LS20 Epson robot is designed to carry objects up to a weight of 20 kg at high speeds. Offering either 800mm or 1000mm arm length, both feature a 420mm Z-Axis length and are able to carry out a variety of tasks including palletizing, machine load/unload and mechanical assembly. Epson themselves state that the LS20 model is “extremely useful in industries ranging from automotive and appliance to industrial.
Both the LS6-500 and the LS6-700 are extensions to the already existing LS-600 model to give more variation in arms length. Now the full range of LS models includes a 500mm, 600mm, and 700mm arm length options and are all equipped to be able to carry loads of up to 6 kg.
Already the leader in producing SCARA robots, Epson decided to extend their range in order to offer more cost effective solutions for some different applications reaching out to a wider range of customer. All three of these models come equipped with an Epson RC90 controller that gives users an application that is reliable, easy to use and powerful enough to complete the tasks it needs to. Epson also includes within the package, the RC+ Development Software which includes options such as Vision Guidance, Profibus, and Microsoft.Net support.
