Just another notch on the belt for Google as they acquire yet another successful business to add to their already budding portfolio of almost 200! This recent acquisition was announced on Google’s Cloud Platform blog and hopes to bring improvements to its cloud offerings to its customers that need an end-to-end service for video publishing and monetization, which is not something that Google’s platform offers.
Anvato is a Californian based technology company that was set up in 2007 by Alper Turgut, and some of their most famous customers include NBCUniversal, CBS, Univision, HGTV, Bravo and Fox Sports. Google is mainly interested in its Media Content Platform, which offers a fully automated platform that will allow the user to encode, edit, publish and distribute video content across multiple platforms.
Over-the-top (OTT) technology usage has accelerated rapidly over the past few years, and some of this is down to Anvato. By Google teaming up with them, together they will create cloud solutions that will help those with industry scale needs to deliver high quality live and on-demand content via any device. Whether it’s TV, smartphone, or tablet users are unlikely to be disappointed.
With this the top class names coming together with the amount of years of skills and knowledge in their fields we are confident there will be some good products to get very soon. Although currently, Google is not giving much away regarding the details of when they will start combining their services with that of Anvato’s more details are likely to reveal over the forthcoming months.
