Recently unveiled to the public and touring across the USA, this new, funky, innovative home could be the latest craze to hit our markets and transform the way we live. Another company dedicated maintaining an ECO-Friendly culture, Tend’s new Tiny Drop home is a brilliant way to live completely off the grid if you wanted to and help the environment at the same time.
In this tiny, 150 square feet creation you can benefit from both a cleaner air environment and lower energy costs than that of a standard home. By using non-toxic materials, a fresh air ventilation system, odour and moisture extractor fan in the bathroom, and a combustion exhaust controlled furnace, stepping into the Tiny Drop home is like taking a breath of fresh air.
Another extraordinary feature of this creation is its high-quality insulation that is achieved by a continuous thermal blanket and advanced home sealing technology. Combine that with the ventilated rain screen and sun barrier; rooftop adorned with solar panels, and super efficient LED lighting, you have one very energy efficient build indeed.
Although 150 square feet does not sound like an awful lot of space to live comfortably in, the Tiny Drop certainly makes the most of the footage it does have. It is completely kitted out for living and downstairs comes with a fully functional kitchen, workspace/dining area, shower and toilet room that looks surprisingly spacious, and a seating area. Upstairs, there is a sleeping loft, accessible by a ladder, which is extended by the skylights situated on top.
Tend and the Tiny Drop home started a nationwide tour back in April to showcase their fascinating creation to give people the opportunity to experience the eco-friendly home. And for those that are interested, for around $60,000 Tend will even build you your own Tiny Drop.
