This is where the new fingerprint sensor of Qualcomm came. The new sensor instead of using a 2D image of the print, it sends ultrasonic waves to create a 3D information of every nanometer of your finger. It’s called Sense ID, because of the ultrasonic waves the sensor doesn’t need to touch your finger. It can send waves through a bunch of different materials, like glass, steel, sapphire and plastic. In the future, we might see some new smartphones that scan your fingers under the LCD screens.
It is highly possible that in the future, we will see some smartphones that use this technology. Qualcomm is a company that works with smartphones producers. Qualcomm chips are used smartphones which designed by Apple, Motorola and Samsung.
