Betfair in partnership with the Drone Racing League has announced an agreement to accept sports betting on drone racing, in particular, the final race of the Allianz World Championship to be held Alexandra Palace in London on 13 June 2017.
The Allianz World Championship is the UK’s first professional drone race and will feature pilots from all over the world as well as a one-of-a-kind, multi-dimensional course throughout the entire Alexandra Palace building.
Flying at speeds of over 80mph, the Drone Racing League races combine the thrill of auto racing and futuristic drone technology. The result is an action-packed professional circuit complete with high-speed chases and, of course, crashes.
The Drone Racing League
The Drone Racing League was established in 2016 as the first and only drone racing organization in the world. The league comprises of six professional races, with 16 pilots competing for the championship at a variety of venues across Miami, Munich, New Orleans, Boston, and London. Because it is a knock-out style competition, a new champion is crowned at the end of every season.
The Allianz World Championship will be aired as 12 hour-long episodes, covering the entirety of the competition for the title of “World’s Greatest Drone Pilot” as well as the six-figure salary.

During the first season of the Drone Racing League, the competition attracted over 30 million viewers across the world.
