IDC Report : 1.4 Billion Smartphones Were Shipped in 2015

Despite the decline in computer shipments in history, smartphone sales increased as expected. IDC announced a detailed report that indicates smartphone shipments in 2015. So IDC took an annual summary of the market and competition.

IDC pointed out that the total number of smartphone shipments made on annual basis. 1.3 billion in 2014 and the number of smartphone shipments increased 1.4 billion in 2015. Although Apple may seem like it dominated the smartphone market, the number of shipments of Samsung is far ahead of Apple. We must say that the market share is continuing to close the gap between two companies.

Samsung shipped 324.8 million smartphones, and it is followed by Apple 231.5 million, and the third one is Huawei 106.6 million. Huawei incredible grew up the smartphone shipment annually. If The number of shipments compared to the previous year, the company has increased by 44.3 percent. For the YoY comparison, Lenovo increased shipments by 24.4 percent and Xiaomi is third one by 22.8 percent.

In 2014, Apple has the 14.8 percent market share which is now 16.2 percent. So we can say that Apple continues to compress the market share of Samsung. About the Huawei is one of another important company. Because it reached the barrier of 100 million smartphones shipments in a year after Apple, Samsung and Nokia.
