While Recharging a Tesla Model S had burst into flames in Norway

During a recharge, a Tesla Model S started catching fire. The incident happened in  Gjerstad, Norway, when the vehicle was in a Tesla’s supercharging station. Unfortunality lithium-ion batteries can overheat, and this is not the first time a Tesla or any other vehicle that burst into flames that contain lithium-ion batteries, even last these days we read that many hoverboards catch on fire.

Catching fire is a problem for many vehicle or devices, every year many people die or seriously injure because of the fires that happen in regular gasoline powered cars. Lithium-ion batteries are still safer than other battery technologies, but that doesn’t mean you should be careful with them. And in the future if you see an all-electric car on fire, give the distance between you and the vehicle and stay away from the smoke that come from the fire because, when a lithium-ion on fire it releases a really toxic gas that can cause serious health problems. If you considering buying an all-electric vehicle, please be sure your insurance covers this kind of incidents.
