So now, researchers have decided to look at not just how to subdue the symptoms of chronic pain, but how they can solve the issue by delving into the main causes of it. Chronic pain has now been reclassified as a complex nervous system disorder that has the ability to change the structure, activity, and chemistry of the brain.
This new way of treating chronic pain cases should bring about a whole new wave of treatment for sufferers and finally dispel the myth that chronic pain sufferers do not have a serious medical condition. No longer will these patients have to simply put up with ineffective medication as a new beginning may be just over the horizon.
