Air Ink – Turning Pollution into Ink

Latest Hot DEALS

As we move to a more ecologically friendly society, there are an increasing number of innovative products coming to market that is not only useful but easy on the environment too. This can be seen in various areas such as the introduction of biodegradable jewelry that is cheap to make, and can be thrown in the ocean at the end of its life where it will dissolve back into the sea water. Now, a new start-up venture from Indian collective, Graviky Labs, is set to take a different approach to dealing with pollution by using it to make pens.

Air Ink is the name of the venture and is an innovative new way to turn pollution into something useful for once. The idea of the ink was first presented at the 2013 Ink Conference. The venture is run by Graviky Labs, which consists of a team of hackers, scientists, and creative types. This innovative new product completely transforms how we see pollution today. The team has found a way to capture air pollutants from car exhausts and turn that into useable ink pens and paint.

Each individual Air Ink pen contains 50 minutes worth of dirty, car exhaust pollutants. That’s 50 minutes less that these pollutants are being pumped into the environment! These pens have only been trialed in Hong Kong and are currently awaiting certification before the team can sell them commercially. Once that happens, because these pens are so unique, funky and stand for such a good cause, they are sure to be a big hit and will soon be flying off the shelves.
