The Chernobyl ( or Chornobyl which is Ukrainian transliteration ) disaster was one of the worst nuclear accident in World’s History. The incident occurred on 26 April 1986 in the city of Pripyat which located in the north of the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. The Chornobyl disaster is classified a level 7 event – which is the maximum classification – on the International Nuclear Event Scale. Also, Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster is scaled as a level 7 event, which happened after a big scale earthquake that also cause big tsunamis.
The Chornobyl disaster began during a test run on 26 April 1986, there was an unexpected power surge at the fourth reactor, the scientist tried an emergency shutdown, but a massive spike in power output occurred, which led to a reactor vessel crack and followed by a series of steam explosions. Aftermath fire sent highly radioactive fallout into the atmosphere; the radioactive cloud affected mostly Europe, Russia, and the Middle East.

Many people were evacuated – the day after the incident occurred – from the most severely affected area that called Pripyat. Nearly 50.000 people relocated in days, and the city became a ghost town ever since. For a very long time; it was very dangerous to go to the city but these last years, some companies do touristic visiting to the area. But still, during these tours the guide will warn you about wearing clothes that cover most of your skin and don’t touch anything and don’t even think about getting a souvenir.
But now, there is a new way to take a safer tour of Pripyat and Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant without the risk of getting some radiation. A young team from Ukraine created a high-tech project to show you the story of the Chornobyl with an awesome virtual reality experience. The documentary will be available for VR headsets such as Samsung Gear VRs, Oculus Rift ( Oculus Windows app ), Google Cardboards.
